JAMIE STENNER INTERVIEW BY DALE TRAVERS
JAMIE STENNER INTERVIEWQuestions and Photos by Dale Travers
Rikki and Jamie Stenner in BrisbaneDT: Name, Age and where are you from?JS: My name is Jamie Stenner, I'm 26 years old and come from Boogie Down Bognor Regis, England.
DT: What brings you out to Australia?JS: Me and my wife have come to Aus on our honeymoon, we lived it up in Singapore then Perth and finally Brisbane.
Wallride to Bank / Waterloo Station / LondonDT: How long was the flight?JS: Our flights out here were okay due to us staying in both Singapore and Perth. Our return flight was 29 hours including the transfers, I've never been so up to date with current films in all my life!
DT: How long are staying with us?JS: We were in Brisbane for 10 days and loved every minute of it.
Kind Grind / Gold CoastDT: How are you dealing with the weather?JS: The weather in Brisbane is perfect - thought it was gunna truck me over as it was -5 and the gnarliest snow we've ever had when we left England then 44 when we landed in Perth, so we had each extreme.
DT: What kind of things have you done since you've been out here?JS: We chilled in at pimpin hotel in Singapore then spent the whole time in Perth at the beach, we went to Adventure World then a house party whilst in Perth which was sick. Learnt about "circle of death" and got some crazy sun burn - good times.
Brisbane was ridiculous, we saw the most beautiful beaches in the world, had a rad day at Steve Irwin's zoo, did the Noosa national walk, saw the loo with a view, suffers paradise, loads of the sunshine coast, rode jet ski's, learnt to wake board, became massive fans of Triple J radio and skated some of the best parks / spots I've ever seen!
Pocket Air / Gap Bowl / BrisbaneDT: What have you liked the most so far?JS: The whole thing - sunshine, good people, spots, Bunderburg Ginger Beer.... There's not much I don't like about Australia.
DT: What's your thoughts of what you've skated so far?JS: Brisbane is full of spots, wouldn't of found any of these spots on my own though - you hooked us up. Weather you wanna cruise a bowl, be creative, drop a hammer or get tech - Brisbane's got something for everyone.
Front Noogan / RedcliffeDT: You and I shot a lot of good photos in London, tell the people out there what our schedule was like and what goes into making a great skating photo?JS: Our schedule for shooting in LDN was pretty hard, running ESP (my family run skate shop - everythingesp.co.uk) doesn't leave a lot of free time, so on Saturday night I'd do the 2 hour drive up to meet you then head into the city and shot into the early hours pretty much till i dropped. Then on Sunday we'd get up early and do the same.
DT: Was it worth it?JS: Without a doubt, amazing times captured forever through your photography - priceless....
Fishbrain / Gap Bowl / BrisbaneDT: It was extremely awesome having you and Rikki out here and a pleasure rolling with you. Any last shout outs?JS: Yeah, I'd like to thank my mum and dad for being the best, everyone that was a part of a wedding day and contributed to an amazing honeymoon - best time of our life!
Thanks to you, Krisztina and Laurie for letting us stay with you guys and making our time in Australia so memorable.
