Rolling Victoria proudly presents the 2009 Victorian Inline Titles. ![]() This year we are hosting two competitions, an under 18's competition and an open competition. This years under 18's comp will have multiple divisions to ensure you skate only against people your age. The opens competition will be held at Ballarat skatepark a few weeks later. We hope separating the two competitions gives the under 18's their best possible chances whilst allowing for a much more relaxed competition at the opens. Thanks to Robbie Pitts for the flyer! |

Just a reminder... Only two weeks to go until the Junior Vic Titles! The divisions have now been confirmed: U18's (that is people aged 17, 16 or 15 on the day) U15's (that is people aged 14, 13 or 12 on the day) U12's (that is people aged 11 or younger on the day) Please note, if you are younger you may choose to go up a division but you may only enter one division on the day. Finally a printable Information Sheet is available from the Rolling Victoria website: http://www.rollvic.org.au/vics09/JunVicTitles09-InfoSheet.pdf Thanks, Rolling Victoria |

Just a reminder the Victorian Inline titles is this weekend! A few updates: Judging is going to be in the 'gravity games' format. There will be flyers and announcements on the day explaining the format but it's really quite simple. In a 'heat' there will be 6-8 people and they will each have a turn individually. Skater 1 will drop and do a 'line' (from as short as one trick to a couple of tricks in a line) as Skater 1 finishes their line, or falls, the announcer will call in Skater 2 and they will also do their line. The rotation will continue IN ORDER for 7-10 minutes depending on the number of skaters in each heat. The same format will be used in the finals. Hopefully this format will ensure that everyone watching (including the judges) won't miss a single trick, which can happen with a Jam format. It also gives the skaters a breather between tricks. This format has been used pretty successfully at FISE and AIL events. Directions: Address: CNR Ballarat Buninyong Rd and Eureka St, Ballarat, Victoria According to google maps the skate park is a 20minute walk from the train station (so probably a 5-10 minute skate) Hit this link to see the path on google maps http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=Ballarat+Buninyong+Rd&daddr=Ballarat+Station,+Victoria,+Australia+(Ballarat+Station)&hl=en&geocode=FTzIwv0dDUGTCA%3BFfrlwv0d6x6TCCG3K3eP_vBiDA&mra=cc&dirflg=w&sll=-37.56244,143.861475&sspn=0.012383,0.01929&ie=UTF8&ll=-37.563052,143.863306&spn=0.012383,0.01929&t=h&z=16 Any questions feel free to email me: owen@rollvic.org.au Cheers |

True, the weather doesn't sound too good but the official BOM forecast for Ballarat isn't released until tomorrow (they only do four days ahead in the rat). Also, generally they can have quite different weather to us, typically a few degrees warmer than Melbourne. Even if the park gets showers it should dry up pretty quickly, we'll have brooms and towels galore to help out in that case. One more official announcement: There will be two categories ELITE and OPEN Any Australian rider who is on a boot or shop sponsor will be in the ELITE division and everyone else can choose to enter open or elite. Hopefully this encourages a lot more people to skate in the OPEN division who were otherwise worried about coming up against CJ, Rian, Danny etc. See you at the comp! |

FINAL NOTES: It'll be a good idea to bring -Camping Chairs -Umbrellas A number of us will bring brooms, towels and tarps to help keep the park dry, if you can bring along any of these items it would also be a big help Cheers, OWen |
